Padmanabhaswamy temple history and Images







Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple is a Hindu temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, located in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala state, India. The shrine is run by a trust headed by the royal family of Travancore.
                    Sree Padmanaswami temple gave its name to Kerala's state capital Thiruvananthapuram. This temple history is very ancient. The history of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple dates back to 8th Century.It is one of the 108 sacred Vishnu temples in India
                    In 1750 ,Marthanda Varma dedicated the Kingdom of Travancore to Lord Padmanabhaswamy. Now  many people are collecting this temple's wallpapers.
                    After seeing a fact, according to report stated, India's richest Temple is Padmanabhaswamy temple. Only Hindu are permitted inside the temple. There is a strict dress code that needs to be followed while entering the temple.
                    There are many festivals related to this Padmanabhaswamy temple, the major festivals are bi annual. The Alpashy festival, which is in March/April lasts for 10 days each. The major annual is Navaratri festival. The biggest festival in this temple is Laksha deepam, which means hundred thousand (or One Lakh) lamps this festival is unique and commences once in 6 years. The next Laksha deepam is slated on January,2014.
                    The Padmanabhaswamy temple as one of the wealthiest temple in India and having some Rs.32000 crore(320 billion) in gold, coins and other assets.
                    The temple history is vary as compared to other temples, The Mahabharata konathu or Chamber 'B' is sealed with an iron door with the image of a COBRA on it and it has not opened, due to the belief opening it would result in much misfortune.
