Konark Sun Temple History and Wallpapers



KONARK SUN TEMPLE is a 13th Century Sun Temple, at Konark, in Odessa State, INDIA. The history describes that it was constructed  from Oxidized and Weathered ferruginous sandstone by King Narasimhadeva 1 of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty.
         Number of people have been keeping this Konark Sun Temple wallpapers in their Websites. The Konark Sun Temple is one of the most renowned temples in India and it also one of the great World Heritage Site. Lot of pilgrims are collected the wallpapers of  this Konark Sun Temple. 
         As per the poll collected by NDTV, Konark Sun Temple is one of the Seven Wonders od India and the Konark Sun Temple was constructed by Samba, the son of Lord Krishna.
         The history says, the large structure seen today is actually the mantapa, of main tower, which once stood in the front, only the remains can be seen, In 1568 this Konark Sun Temple partially destroyed by Sheik Kabir Batini, he broke most of the images in most of the Hindu Temples in Orissa.
          The history exposes, the Konark Sun Temple was conceived as a gigantic solar chariot with twelve pairs of exquisitely ornamented wheels dragged by seven veering horses and the history says that the Konark Sun Temple comprised a Sanctum with a lofty Sikhara a Jaganmohana and a detached nata-mandira in the same axis, beside numerous subsidiary shrines. 
           The Sanctum and the nata-mandira have lost their roof and the Sanctum displays superb image of the Sun-God in the three projections, which are treated as miniature shrines.
