MACHU PICCHU or MACHU PIKCHU site is a 15th century Inca site located 2,430 meters above Sea level. It is located in the Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, Machu Picchu district in Peru.
          Machu Picchu or Machu Pikchu site situated on a mountain ridge above the sacred vallry, which is 80km northwest of cusco in Peru and through which the Urubamba River flows.

          Actually Machu Picchu or Machu Pikchu was unknown to the outside world site before being brought to international attraction in 1911 by the American historian Hiram Bingham. Since then, Peru Machu Picchu or Machu Pikchu has become an important tourist attraction site and lot of natural images or wallpapers are sold there. Thirty percentage Manchu Picchu or Manchu Pikchu had been restored by 1976, it is highly significant as a relatively intact culture site. Machu Picchu or Manchu Pikchu Peru was declared a Peruvian Historical Sanctuary in 1981 and a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983.
         In 2007, Manchu Picchu or Manchu Pikchu was voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a Worldwide internet poll. It was built in the classical Inca Style, with polished dry-stone walls.
         Machu Picchu or Machu Pikchu Peru has three primary structures, they are the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Sun and the Room of the 3 windows. These are located in Machu Picchu district. In 1983 UNESCO designated Machu Picchu or Machu Pikchu is a World Heritage site, describing it as an absolute masterpiece of architecture and a unique testimony to the Inca Civilization and the World Monument Fund placed its 2008 watch list of the 100 most Endangered sites in the World, because of environmental degradation. This has resulted from the impact of tourism, uncontrolled development in the nearby town of Agnas Calientes.
