THE EIFFEL TOWER is an iron lattice tower, located on the champ de mars, in Paris, named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower.

The design of the Paris Eiffel Tower was originated by Manrice Koechlin and Emile Nouguier. The Eiffel Tower foundations started in January 1887. The Eiffel Tower had a permit for the tower to stand for 20 years, it was to be dismantled in 1909, when its ownership would revert to the City of Paris, it was allowed to remain after the expiration of the permit.
In the opening weeks of World War 1, powerful radio transmitters were fitted to the Eiffel tower in order to Jam German Communications.
