Kivalina Village Island in Alaska State, United States



KIVALINA is village and island in Northwest Arctic Borough in Alaska State, United States. The Kivalina village people was 377 at the 2000 year Census and 374 as of the 2010 year Census.
        The Kivalina island on which the village lies is threatened by rising Sea Levels and Coastal erosion. As of 2013, the Kivalina village is predicted that the island will be inundated by 2025.
        The Kivalina village in Alaska State is on the Southern tip of an 12 km (7.5 miles) long barrier island located between the Chukchi Sea and lagoon at the mouth of the Kivalina River.
        According to the United States Census Bureau, the Kivalina village island in Alaska State has a total area of 3.9 square miles (10 km), of which, 1.9 square miles (4.9 km) of it is land and 2.0 square miles (5.2 km) of it is water.
        As of the Census of 2000, there were 377 people, 78 households, and 64 families residing in the Kivalina village island. On August 4,2011, United States, it was reported that residents of the village and city of Kivalina had seen a strange orange goo wash up on the shore.
        The Kavalina village island people are depending on fish hunting and the village people constructed the big wall around total village for protection of the Kavalina island and now this position they should have migrated to other places and some people have been migrated and some are still staying in that village.
