INS Kamorta Anti-submarine Warfare ASW of Indian Navy @ 2014



@ INS KAMORTA ANTI-SUBMARINE WARFARE ( ASW ) OF INDIAN NAVY 2014 @

The Indian Navy on Saturday (23-08-2014) formally received the first fully ingeniously built anti-submarine warfare corvette ASW, INS kamorta at Visakhapatnam. The INS novel warship was handed over to the Indian Navy by Kolkata-based Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd.

Indian Defense Minister Mr.Arun Jaitley commissions India's first indigenous built stealth anti-submarine warfare INS Kamorta. Ninety Percentage 90% of INS Kamorta anti-submarine ship was of indigenous make and added that the INS Kamorta would serve the country effectively for a long time.

People praised the Indian Navy for doing a commendable job with respect to maritime security.The vision for India to become the biggest Defense Manufacturer in the World.The first of four such ASW ships,INS Kamorta will be the first to integrate rocket launcher for anti-submarine warfare.

Work on INS Kamorta began on March 1,2006 and was launched on April 19,2010.This ASW INS ship's maiden sea trial commenced in June,2013 and was handed over to the Indian Navy on July 12,2014.Later check up in all units it is handed over on 23-08-2014 by shipbuilders.

INS Kamorta ASW ship sensors include the most advanced bow-mounted sonar and indigenous air surveillance radar,Revathi,with a capability to detect targets 200 km away.INS Kamorta has enhanced stealth features that make her less susceptible to detection.
