Civil Right and Political Activist Irom Sharmila also known as "Iron Lady of Manipur" or "Mengoubi" and she is also Poet from the Indian State of Manipur.
History says,on 2 November 2000,Civil Right and Political Activist Irom Sharma began a hunger strike,which is still ongoing. Irom hunger strike against Armed Forces,Act,1958.
The Civil right activist Irom Sharmila arrests number of times and releases number of times.Having food and water, she refuses and Sharmila always in news and fight against AFSPA.
Civil Right and Political Activist Iron Sharmila has been called "The World's longest hunger striker" and on International Women's,2014 she was voted the top women icon of India by MSN POLL.So this is updated in her life career and history.
Some year ago ten civilians were shot and killed while waiting at a bus stop and the cause this incident was one of the Indian Paramilitary forces operating in the state and at that time she decided to go hunger strike and her primary demand fight against @ AFSPA.
Today i.e 22-08-2014 Friday the Manipur Police Officers convinced her and she refused even for B.P check up and other health attention.Finally Police Officials arrest her by about 30 women constables from the shed of the Save Sharmila Organisation.
After medical treatment,observation and attention Civil Right activist Irom will be released again is yet to be seen and Sharmila has become a anti-AFSPA activist since more than one decade.Today her arrest news telecast-ed by media and also in Indian news papers.
